Heidi M. Okowitz

Heidi M. Okowitz, PT, DPT received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Davis and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Southern California. During her undergraduate career, she was a member of the Women’s Rowing Team where she competed across the country as well as in Australia. Heidi discovered her passion for physical therapy while spending many mornings in the training room to rehab injuries following practice on the water.

At USC, Heidi excelled in the classroom, clinic, and lab. She had the opportunity to attend a variety of internships in orthopedics, sports, pediatrics, neurological, balance/vestibular, and acute care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She also complimented her academic and clinical education by working closely with professors as a research assistant in the Exercise Physiology Lab.

Since beginning her career at BACK 2 HEALTH PHYSICAL THERAPY, Heidi has put all of these skills to work while rehabilitating patients following shoulder and knee surgeries to patients with neck and back pain. She strives to focus on patient education and individual function to give each person the knowledge and tools to get back to work, back to play, and back to health.
