Thomas De Luna, PT, DPT earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kean University in Union, New Jersey in 2018. In 2023, he completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy program from West Coast University.
Growing up, Thomas had a fascination with how the human body functions. He always had the ambition to pursue a career in healthcare; having the drive to heal individuals. Thomas was very close to his grandmother, who suffered a stroke. He observed a home health physical therapist who helped her gain her movement back. Although she was not fully recovered at the end, he was amazed at the process of how she began from barely moving out of her bed to walking in her community with an assistive device. In addition, he loves to play basketball and was injured several times leading him to develop a deep understanding of what athletes can go through, not only physically but mentally as well. Combining his love for sports and passion for helping people, Thomas knew that physical therapy was the career path he was meant to follow.
During his academic career, Thomas had home health and numerous outpatient physical therapy experiences. He had several opportunities to observe and work with various patients; ranging from neurological rehab, outpatient orthopedics, to sports. Thomas believed that Back 2 Health Physical Therapy embodies everything he experienced in the clinical field all in one.
